The challenge

Laney were preparing to attend the iconic 2019 NAMM music show. This leading global event, showcases every aspect of the music products industry. It is a truly prestigious event packed with the leading pro audio, lighting, staging, technology and instruments from across the music and events industry. Every aspect of their attendance at the event had to be spot on. So, their website underwent a complete overhaul from the front-end design to the back-end management.

The approach

This was an opportunity to not just create a new website, but to develop a truly dynamic source of information where several systems were integrated to offer real-time information.  With a vast range of products, it was critical to minimise the requirement for staff to upload information. As a result, the website was built to utilise data directly from Laney’s internal SAP system. This meant the team could enter information into their internal database, which then automatically synchronises the relevant content, images, manuals and other assets into the website.

The outcome

Aside from eliminating unnecessary time inputting data twice, it also allows for a much faster transition of data between the systems. What’s more – it reduces errors and allows the generation of some very useful Schema tagging. This in turn provides useful meta information for both screen readers and of course to Google.
