This great community venue close to the centre of the market town of Thame is popular for parties, celebrations and business meetings. It has several rooms to hire around a courtyard space. Heavily reliant on raising awareness of the facility and generating recommendation through referrals, the previous site was restrictive, out of date and unreliable. It was written in a primitive form which gave it significant limitations including being non mobile or tablet responsive. As a result, it was frequently falling over or corrupting when any updates or attempts to add events were made.
The website required a completely new way of looking at it. There was the desire from the outset to combine its functionality with being able to portray the facilities and services. It is a great venue, with lots of fabulous imagery but the previous site did not use these to their very best ability. Pentangle therefore centred the structure of the site around the imagery. This was supplemented with focusing on the functionality – both from a visitor’s perspective and also from the team and their ability to update the site easily and frequently.
The new site is a massive step away from where it was. Visually it is a much better representation of the facilities. It also now enables the staff at Thame Barns Centre to take ownership of the content without the involvement of any third party. Ultimately, this makes their lives easier as they are not reliant on others to add information, so they can do it themselves as and when it is required.
